This fine example of Gothic architecture is located on the Ile de la Cité, less than 30 minutes on foot from the hotel. Building work started in the 12th century and continued over two centuries. Badly damaged during the French Revolution, the cathedral was restored in the 19th century by the architect, Viollet-le-Duc. In 2013, this monument celebrated its 850th anniversary. For the event, 8 bells and one tenor bell were added to Notre-Dame's heritage.
