Exhibition: "Christian Dior, Couturier du Rêve" at Musée des Arts Décoratifs - From 5 July 2017 to 7 January 2018
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs celebrates in Paris the 70th anniversary of the creation of the House of Dior, presenting the sublime exhibition "Christian Dior, Couturier du Rêve" ("Designer of the Dream) from 05 July 2017 to 07 January 2018.
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs invites you to discover the work of the famous fashion designer Christian Dior (1905-1957) with this rich and dense retrospective, which presents more than 300 couture dresses designed from 1947 to the present day.
The exhibition immerses you in the world of the founder of the House of Dior and the illustrious couturiers who succeeded him: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and most recently Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Also, and for the first time in such an exhaustive way, atelier toiles and fashion photographs, as well as hundreds of documents (sketches, documentary photographs, illustrations, advertising documents, letters and notes...) and fashion accessories (bags, hats, jewelry, perfume bottles, shoes...) will be presented to the public.
But Christian Dior was also passionate about art and museums. Part of the exhibition presents paintings, furniture and objets d'art that inspired him for his creations.
A monumental exhibition not to be missed!
